About

How can we help?

I am a culturally competent trauma-informed therapist. I have extensive experience working with law enforcement and other public safety professionals, military service members, and veterans. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University with a specialization in Trauma and Crisis. I have a Master of Education from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology from University of Georgia. I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy. I have also been trained in Trauma Resiliency through 22Zero. I have been a Grief Recovery Specialist since December 2021 when I completed the Grief Recovery Method Certification Training. I have provided counseling services in a variety of settings including private practice, adolescent psychiatric hospital, adult psychiatric hospital, sexual assault advocacy center, and law enforcement agency. I have counseled adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings for trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, psychosis, anger, family conflict, anger, and abuse. I encourage you not to wait for the crisis to reach out for help; instead, let's work together to prepare you so that you are able to handle the crisis and heal from it more effectively if and when it arises. I meet my clients where they are at in life. Life can be challenging, and it can be helpful to have someone listen empathetically and objectively without judgment to help you navigate life's challenges. Every individual is different, and my approach to therapy will reflect the individual's needs. Therapy requires trust and vulnerability, which can provoke anxiety for some people, but I assure you that I provide a safe, confidential, and compassionate space to explore experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy can be uncomfortable but worth it. You will get out of it what you put into it. I am grateful for the opportunity to help individuals find meaning in their lives and guide them to empowerment so they can make the healthy changes they want to see in their lives.
